How to Ask Her On a Date Over the Telephone

Once you’ve hit the part where your flirting has paid off and you’ve gotten her phone number, you can be pretty sure that she wants to hear from you. Now in what capacity is up to you.

We understand that you may be feeling a little nervous about calling her and asking her out, but if you follow these steps, we are certain you’ll be able to ask her out and not get turned down.

Step 1.

You may be staring at her phone number trying to work up the nerve to call her. This is fine and well, but you should make it a point to call her at a decent hour. Until you know what her schedule is like and what times she accepts calls, you should play it safe. In general, people prefer to be called around noon on the weekends and between 6 and 8 pm during the week. If she isn’t available to talk during these times, apologize for interrupting her and ask when would be a better time to call back.

Step 2.

Maybe she is available to talk when you call her. Instead of plunging right in and asking her out on a date, you should do the small talk routine. This may not be your style, but it will relax her and may even give you an idea of what her interests are, which could come in handy later.

Step 3.

Show off that sense of humor of yours! Women love when a guy can make her laugh and if you are a natural comedian, then this is your time to shine. Of course, if you aren’t that funny, you can go the safe route and retell a funny story or joke you’ve heard. You should keep things light and entertaining during the conversation.

Step 4.

If the conversation is going well, you can go in for the kill by asking if she’d like to continue the conversation over coffee or maybe even lunch. You’ll want to choose a short date to continue the chat because if the chemistry isn’t quite the same in person as it was on the phone, you aren’t obligated to stick around for any longer than that. Of course, if the date goes well and you want to go somewhere else after the coffee or lunch date, that option is available too.

Asking someone out on a date over the telephone isn’t nearly as scary as people make it out to be. You’ll quickly discover that as you get more practice talking to women on the telephone, you will find it much easier to figure out how the conversation is going, whether or not she would be interested in spending time with you, and if you even have a connection to one another. It is recommended that you wait to ask her on a date after a few conversations first. If she continues to answer your phone calls, you can be assured that she will probably accept a date invitation.
