Is Dating Your One Night Stand Easy or Is It Wrong?

One night stands are random trysts with someone, and that’s it. There aren’t any calls, texts, or emails afterward. The very best you could hope for is an awkward hello at a chance meeting on the streets.

When it comes to the sexes and one night stands, men are expected to want a one night stand, and women want relationships. Actually, both genders initiate and engage in one night stands, and the reasons are more alike than you’d think. The only difference is women tend to get the side eye for it whereas men are applauded. It’s the typical double standard that we all come to know and loathe.

A one night stand shouldn’t be something that either person thinks a lot about after it happens. But, this is just a generalized opinion by the public. The truth is, the whole act shouldn’t be a big deal. It is possible to have sex just for the sake of getting it on. If someone chooses to do it because they enjoy the act without feeling like they have to commit to someone, then who’s right is it to question them otherwise?

We have the right to do with our bodies as we wish. It doesn’t matter what kind of choices we make, as long as we aren’t hurting anyone else or putting anyone in any else kind of danger, then so be it. We are adults, and we do have the ability to make rational decisions.

Is it Okay to Date Your One Night Stand?

Of course, you can date someone you had a one night stand with. The best part is, once you start seeing them, you don’t have to consider it a one-night stand anymore. You wouldn’t believe how many relationships start off this way.

Besides, why wouldn’t you want to date your one-night stand? There had to be something awesome about them in the first place that made you want to get down and dirty with them, right? The only way that this arrangement wouldn’t work out is if they didn’t feel the same about you.

Is it Easy to Date Your One Night Stand?

That is a horse of another color. Before you decide if they are worth dating, you have to ask yourself why you want to date them. Then you have to ask yourself a few other things, like what is it about that person that you like, is it worth calling them out of the blue, and perhaps more importantly, why you didn’t talk after that little tryst.

You can learn a bunch once you answer these questions. Now’s your chance to figure out whether or not the person you slept with is worth asking out. If they never intended to see you again, it doesn’t mean that they’re a bad person. They just understood the mechanics of a one night stand and decided not to pursue the matter anymore. Choosing to date them is easy, but you have to decide if it is the right decision.

Is it sleazy? Not hardly. Simply because you slept with each other doesn’t mean you have to avoid each other like the plague. A one night stand is only sleazy when you two had sex for the wrong reasons such as:

• Rebound sex
• Money
• Pity sex
• Attention

Let’s face it, one night stands are part of the dating world. You never know what you’re getting into until it’s too late sometimes. You can avoid them as much as you can, but sometimes they aren’t always as bad as you might think they are.
